Rate increases announced by carriers for December as demand set to rise steadily ahead of Chinese New Year.

Carriers have announced rate increases from December in anticipation of rising demand. With Chinese New Year approaching in February 2026 and Easter falling early next year, there will be no post-Chinese New Year window for shipments needing to arrive before Easter. As a result, the final weeks of December are likely to be particularly busy.

Blank sailings remain in place through to the end of November, with further cancellations anticipated in December as carriers continue to manage capacity and help rate levels hold.

Overall, schedule reliability remains good, although ongoing blank sailings may result in some short-notice adjustments. We’ll continue to monitor developments and keep customers informed as the market moves into the pre-Chinese New Year period.
