China continues to gradually reopen following the Lunar New Year. Carriers are further adjusting capacity through additional blank sailings and have announced rate increases from 1st March.
As factories continue to gradually return, we are seeing a steady recovery in production activity across China and Hong Kong. Operations at origin are returning back to normal, with supply chains picking up their usual pace.
Carriers have announced a significant number of sailing omissions throughout February and March to balance their networks to match supply and demand. With significant capacity being taken out of the market, shipping lines have announced rate increases from March 1st. We expect that others will likely follow suit.
In Europe, we are seeing some disruption to operations as carriers adjust to the new global shipping alliance structures, impacting vessel rotations and causing delays and impacting ETA reliability. However, we anticipate that schedules will stabilise in the coming weeks.
With capacity continually being withdrawn from the market, we are experiencing potential challenges with schedules changing at the last minute. We will keep you updated with any news of impact to the movement of your cargo at the earliest opportunity.
